Mesothelioma – Mass Tort
Total Settlement: $850,000
Attorneys: Gene Riddle and Christopher Brantley
Our client died of mesothelioma, a cancer caused by asbestos exposure in the course of his work as a welder for a railroad. Riddle and Brantley teamed up with attorneys Chip Hickey and Reid Acree and a suit was filed against the railroad company and its insurer. A co-worker that worked with our client was located, and was able to testify about the use of asbestos-containing products by welders for the railroad company. The case was set for trial but fortunately a settlement was reached with one defendant prior to trial for $725,000. The other defendant ultimately settled for an additional $125,000, with compensation totaling $850,000.
