A Family Tradition Rooted in Carolina Law
A recent article from UNC School of Law highlights the Riddle family's multi-generational connection to Carolina Law, showcasing a legacy built on legal excellence, service, and a deep commitment to justice. This tradition has not only shaped the careers of multiple generations but has also influenced the client-first philosophy at Riddle & Riddle Injury Lawyers. As a family-run firm, we take pride in treating every client with the same care and dedication that has defined our practice for decades across North Carolina.
Generations of Excellence in Law
Twin brothers Gene Riddle and Dean Riddle both attended UNC for their undergraduate studies before pursuing legal careers. Dean went on to earn his law degree from UNC School of Law in 1985, while Gene attended Wake Forest University School of Law. Dean built a successful career in Texas, and Gene established what is now Riddle & Riddle Injury Lawyers in North Carolina, focusing on advocating for injury victims statewide.
The next generation has carried on the family’s legal tradition. Gene’s daughter, Alex Riddle, graduated from Carolina Law in 2020 and became a partner at the firm in 2025. Her sister, Arden Riddle, is currently a second-year law student at UNC, continuing the family’s commitment to legal excellence and service.
Innovation and Client-Centered Advocacy
The UNC article also notes Riddle & Riddle Injury Lawyers’ embrace of innovation to provide the best possible representation for our clients. By integrating advanced technology like artificial intelligence (AI) into legal practice, we enhance efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on personal advocacy. This approach aligns with UNC School of Law’s emphasis on preparing lawyers to navigate the evolving legal landscape.
Our commitment to treating clients like family has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, North Carolina Lawyers Weekly recognized Riddle & Riddle Injury Lawyers as a "Best Family-Run Law Firm," a reflection of our dedication to compassionate, results-driven legal representation.
Giving Back to the Carolina Community
In recognition of the education and opportunities provided by Carolina Law, Gene Riddle and his firm endowed a $50,000 scholarship in 2024 to support future law graduates. Dean Riddle has also contributed significantly to the UNC Law Foundation, ensuring that the family's impact extends beyond their own careers and benefits the next generation of legal professionals.
