Hometown: John grew up in Vanceboro, North Carolina and graduated from West Craven High School in 1987. Growing up, John went by the name Chris Hunt.
Professional Background: John Hunt served in law enforcement for almost 30 years, during which he was a police chief for 14 years. He joined the U.S. Army Reserve at 37 years old, and promoted to the rank of sergeant, serving from 2005 to 2013.
Education: John spent three years attending college at Columbia College, and has earned multiple law enforcement certificates as well as several awards and medals throughout his military career.
Family: John is married to his wife, Janice, with whom he has seven children. Their youngest child will be attending Campbell University and has joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, and his oldest child is a senior at Methodist University. Despite their busy schedules, John and his family enjoy “family night” together every month.
Pets: John and his family have two kittens, Sophia and Grace, who John describes as “my other kids.”
Favorite Part of Working at Riddle & Brantley: John says he loves “being able to help people and … make sure the clients are represented well.”
On Serving Clients: “I had a client in Durham, North Carolina who was turned down by several law firms. After looking into the accident I was able to put a smile on his face. I was able to get the ball rolling and signed him for the law firm.”
