Kevin “Dail” Owens | Investigator
Investigator Kevin “Dail” Owens served in the North Carolina State Highway Patrol from March 1991 to June 2017. Starting as a Trooper, Dail was promoted to Sergeant in 2005. He spent his entire career in law enforcement serving the people of Eastern North Carolina, including Bertie, Hertford, Gates, Beaufort, Hyde, Washington, Tyrrell, Pitt, Martin, Lenoir and Jones Counties.
In his time on the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Dail investigated thousands of auto accidents. He also trained 14 new Troopers and supervised roughly 75 other Troopers throughout his career.
Dail graduated from Washington High School in 1983. He completed his 24 weeks of Highway Patrol Basic School to become a Trooper in 1991, completing a 12-week Supervisor’s Course in 2005 and a 12-week Administrative Officers Management Program at North Carolina State University in 2007.
At Riddle & Brantly, Dail is responsible for investigating accidents, photographing the crash scene as well as assisting in the inspection of involved vehicles. He additionally pulls accident reports for our attorneys and case managers, obtains statements from witnesses and law enforcement officers, and helps locate insurance and court documents as needed.
In his spare time, Dail enjoys spending time with his family, working on cars and playing golf.
“I enjoy the fact that we actually help people receive what they are entitled to,” says Dail. “The insurance companies can deny claims without justification and often times the judicial system is the only way to make them do what’s right.”
