In North Carolina, the workers compensation process is as follows: once you’re injured on the job, you have to report the injury in a reasonable period of time. Unfortunately, because the insurance carrier for your employer has to pay your medical bills, they have the right to approve and authorize your treatment. What does that mean? That means the insurance company gets to pick your doctors or certainly gets to pick your doctors in the initial stages of your case. And there’s also something positive about that, in return for that, all you have to do is prove that you were hurt on the job as a result of an accident. You don’t have to prove that it wasn’t your fault, even if it’s your fault and you caused your injury, workers comp has to pay for it. Please give us a call or send us an email. We’re here, we’re ready to help. Justice Counts.
