Lincoln County Tanker Truck Crash on NC Highway 16 Leaves One Dead
A tanker truck exploded in flames just hours after a deadly crash in Lincoln County, North Carolina last night, according to reports from WTVD. The tanker truck flipped on Highway 16 near Denver, NC and spilled an unknown quantity of fuel into a nearby creek.
The driver of the tanker truck, who has not been identified by authorities, was killed.
According to reports, the crash occurred when another vehicle pulled onto Highway 16 near St. James Church Rd. and collided with the tanker. The driver of the other vehicle, an unidentified woman, survived and was taken to the hospital.
The tanker involved was carrying 8,500 gallons of fuel, according to WTVD.
