2 Hit by SUV while Trying to Aid Dog Shows Importance of UM and Medpay Coverages
ABC11.com is reporting on a tragic accident that occurred in Durham on Monday, October 19, 2015 where two people were trying to help a dog that had been hit by a car were themselves hit by another vehicle. The driver that struck the two good-Samaritans was cited for driving without a license or insurance.
Hopefully, the two injured victims of the car accident carried Uninsured Motorist (UM) coverage or Medical Payments (Medpay) on their auto insurance. Even though they were not in their vehicles, their own personal policies should offer some coverage to them for their injuries. UM and Medpay coverages are very affordable and can be very important in a world when so many people drive cars without carrying any insurance.
