Why Have There Been So Many School Bus Crashes in North Carolina Recently?
The Goldsboro News-Argus reported that over the course of one week in December there were three separate school bus crashes in NC involving buses from schools in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County. Reportedly, all three wrecks resulted in no student injuries.
The first school bus crash happened on a Monday when a Mineral Springs Elementary School bus carrying eight children were in a wreck with another vehicle. The second incident happened the next day and involved another bus from Mineral Springs Elementary School. That bus was carrying 40 students when another vehicle struck it. The driver of the vehicle that hit the school bus received a traffic citation, according to the report. The third accident happened Wednesday when an Ibraham Elementary School bus collided with a car. As of this writing, the wrecks that took place on Monday and Wednesday were still under investigation.
