Emma McEvoy - Attorney at Riddle & Brantley

Thank You for Hiring Riddle & Brantley.

Meet Your Attorney, Emma B. McEvoy.

Emma B. McEvoy is an attorney at Riddle & Brantley handling auto accident, truck accident, personal injury, and workers’ compensation cases. She joined the firm in 2022 after working as a litigation associate at a Buffalo, NY-based law firm where she focused on employment litigation and general civil litigation. Emma graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law in 2020 after earning her B.A. in government and history from St. Lawrence University in 2017. She is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and New York State Bar Association.

A Family Matter

Emma comes from a family well-versed in the law, with her mother serving as a New York State Supreme Court Judge. Her father works as in-house corporate counsel, and her brother is also an attorney, handling insurance coverage matters at a firm in New York City. “It was my mom’s work as a New York State Supreme Court judge that inspired me to become a lawyer,” says Emma. “Her stories of cases, told around the dinner table as a child, and the work that goes into them, are what made me want to be part of the process.”

“By nature, I’m a bit competitive. For me, being able to tackle a challenging case head-on and find a solution for my client is the best type of win.”

A Passion for Justice

In addition to handling personal injury matters at Riddle & Brantley and litigation at her previous firm, Emma has been engaged in the legal industry for years. She served as Senior Staff Editor for the North Carolina International Law Journal while studying at UNC School of Law, and was also the student assistant attorney general for the Honor System, charging and prosecuting honor code violations. Emma was also involved in the school’s Women in Law group.

Other Interests

Emma grew up in Buffalo, New York and is an avid Buffalo Bills fan. In her spare time, you might find her cheering on the Bills or UNC basketball, or traveling. Her all-time favorite trip was to Peru, where she was able to visit the Incan ruins at Machu Picchu.
