CPAP Machine Kidney Cancer Risk
Do CPAP Machines Cause Kidney Cancer?
That’s the question many are asking after Philips issued a recall of CPAP machines, BiLevel PAP machines, and mechanical ventilators due to a serious product defect.
According to the company’s statement, defective CPAP machines may increase the risk of cancer. Philips has warned that degraded sound-abating foam in its CPAP machines may be inhaled or absorbed, and this may increase users’ risk of developing kidney cancer.
If you’ve suffered from kidney cancer after using a Philips CPAP machine, you may qualify for a CPAP lawsuit and be entitled to significant financial compensation. Call 1-800-525-7111 for a FREE, no-obligation consultation with an experienced CPAP lawsuit attorney handling CPAP kidney cancer claims.
Defective Philips CPAP machines may also increase the risk of other cancers, including lung cancer, liver cancer, and rectal cancer. Other injuries including heart problems and sudden respiratory failure may be caused by CPAP machines, as well.
Don’t wait — if you’ve been diagnosed with kidney cancer after using a Philips CPAP machine, you may qualify for a CPAP kidney cancer lawsuit and be entitled to compensation. Please call 1-800-525-7111 and let’s review your claim.
IMPORTANT: If you’ve used a Philips CPAP machine, BiLevel PAP machine, or mechanical ventilator, review Philips’ recall announcement and speak with your doctor immediately. Philips advises those using CPAP or BiLevel PAP machines to stop using them immediately and seek alternatives. Those using mechanical ventilators should consult with a doctor before stopping use of these devices. We have more information on which CPAP machines have been recalled on our website.
How Might CPAP Machines Cause Kidney Cancer?
More research into cancer risk associated with CPAP machines needs to be conducted, but plaintiffs’ attorneys have alleged that Philips CPAP machines increase the risk of kidney cancer, among other types of cancer and other injuries.
According to the recall announcement by Philips, polyester-based polyurethane (PE-PUR) — used for sound abatement in Philips CPAP machines — may degrade into small gaseous volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including toxic diethylene glycol.
These potentially toxic particulates from defective CPAP machines may be inhaled or absorbed in the airways, potentially causing “carcinogenic effects,” possibly including kidney cancer.
“I’ve Been Diagnosed with Kidney Cancer After Using a CPAP Machine. What Can I Do?”
If you’ve been diagnosed with kidney cancer after using a Philips CPAP machine, BiLevel PAP machine, or mechanical ventilator, you deserve justice and may qualify for a CPAP lawsuit.
